A fleet refresh has put an Oxfordshire logistics firm in top gear as it drives towards significant growth.
Abingdon Freight Forwarding Agency (AFFA) has invested more than £200,000 in adding 10 new vehicles to its fleet.
The latest additions include four 7.5-tonne, four 18-tonne and two 26-tonne trucks to support the ongoing growth of its core road freight and pallet delivery services.
Shareholder member
The Abingdon-based business, which employs a team of 26, has been a shareholder member of Pallet-Track since 2005, covering pallet collection and delivery services across the Oxford and Aylesbury postcodes.
AFFA is celebrating its long-standing partnership with the pallet network by adding dual-branded curtains to the new trucks.
The firm operates a total fleet of 19 trucks and 13 trailers and plans to refresh the remainder of its vehicles later in the year with new double-deck trailers, straight-frame trucks, and more 26-tonne vehicles.
Alongside its fleet, AFFA is also investing in its team, with 24-year-old Harry Bonser recently promoted to the role of general manager, after joining the company as a Class 1 HGV driver at just 21.
Brand recognition
Abbas Karim, director at AFFA, said: “The investment in new vehicles is driven by recent business growth and our desire for increased brand recognition on the road.
“As a young, energetic, and agile team, we have real ambition to expand the business and plan to achieve this by increasing our general haulage operations and national presence.
“Pallet Track has facilitated our growth to date by providing our business with credibility and enabling us to build customer trust.
“It has enabled AFFA to deliver to customers not only across the UK, but also into Europe, which has broadened both our service reach and customer base.
“This has given us a solid foundation on which to grow our services and the reach of our business, and we will continue to invest in our fleet and the training of our team as we expand.
“We’re bringing a younger generation into the industry and we’re proud to be able to offer our team an environment in which they can learn and progress.”
Significant investment
Stuart Godman, CEO at Pallet-Track, said: “We are immensely proud to see one of our shareholder members go from strength to strength growing their operations.
“The team at AFFA have made significant investments in updating their fleet, ensuring they have the flexibility and agility customers now require. This is fantastic news not only for them, but for the wider network.
“We look forward to supporting and watching the team grow and thrive.”
